Not only is Elastomers Australia making an impact through products and services, but also through its core values, which embody the spirit of “care, courage, one team and a can-do attitude’.
The company joined forces with Australian Red Cross earlier this year, proudly supporting the organisation through it’s ‘Life Blood Program’. This initiative encourages employees to donate blood, Plasma & Platelets at their local Australian Red Cross Blood Service provider, positively contributing towards saving the lives of numerous individuals.
As part of this initiative, Elastomers Australia has allowed its staff to donate blood during work hours, making it more convenient for them to participate in.
So far, the company has successfully saved a grand total of 39 lives on a national scale. With the current momentum of the company tally in full swing, there is an optimistic outlook that this number will continue to grow.
Elastomers Australia Inductions/Rostering Coordinator Tammy Render said she felt proud knowing that just a few minutes of her time can give someone else more time to live.
“It’s a quick and easy process that doesn’t cost anything, but time and the outcome is priceless, she said.
“With every blood donation 3 lives are saved, with every plasma donation it can be used 18 different life saving ways for treatment.”
Elastomers Australia takes pride in its partnership with Australian Red Cross and the opportunity to give back to the community.
With the motto ‘nothing beats the feeling of saving lives together’, the program will be running indefinitely, allowing staff to contribute to the cause throughout the year.
